Hello Friends! This is James Goll with God Encounters Ministries, bringing you the monthly word of exhortation for April: The BATTLE of the Mouth: Praise or Perturbed

What we speak shapes our atmosphere. We can either choose to praise and uplift or allow frustration and negativity to take over. This is a crucial battle, and I want to share insights from scripture and personal experience on how we can overcome through the power of praise.

In this month’s Word of Exhortation, we’ll explore:

The Battle of the Mouth
Our words have power. We either speak life and edification, or we allow grumbling, complaining, and negativity to shape our world. What we let out of our mouths determines our atmosphere and the battles we win or lose.

Biblical Foundations
The Bible makes it clear: what we say matters. In 2 Samuel 11:1, kings went to war in the spring. Likewise, there is a battle in this season, but it’s not just physical—it’s spiritual. Matthew 21:16 reminds us that God has ordained praise from the mouths of His people, reinforcing that praise itself is a weapon.

Moses’ Warning
Moses was commanded to speak to the rock, but in frustration, he struck it instead—and it cost him the chance to enter the Promised Land. This serves as a stark reminder that speaking in anger and frustration can disqualify us from the very blessings we’ve been declaring.

The Power of Praise
Praise is not just about singing; it is a sacrifice of our lips. Even in difficulty—whether in sickness, trials, or discouragement—choosing praise shifts the atmosphere. When we lift our voices in praise, we align with heaven, and the enemy loses ground.

Sending Judah First
In Numbers 2:9, we see that the tribe of Judah (which means praise) was sent first into battle. This is our key to victory! When we lead with praise, we push back darkness, overcome obstacles, and step into the promises of God.

There is a battle waging—not just in the world, but over our words. Social media fuels negativity, debate, and division. But we are called to rise above, to set our eyes on Jesus, and to declare His goodness in every situation.

You can watch the full message here!

Let’s lift our voices in praise and declare victory together!

God Bless you!
